With technology driving the move to connected vehicles and other applications of intelligent transportation systems, a technically savvy, well-trained workforce is essential. Universities and other education and training institutions at all levels have a role to play. The USDOT's Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office provides training opportunities, technical assistance, and educational resources in a variety of formats focusing on the widespread deployment of connected vehicles technologies.
