Correction to: ``Compact four-dimensional Einstein manifolds''

In this paper (J. Differential Geometry 16 (1981) 475-481) the author intended to construct an Einstein metric on a product of two 2-spheres by a conformal change of metric. The first step of the construction was to define a metric on a 2-shere. However the metric still has a singularity at the north or south pole.
