Taking full advantage of the flexibility provided by GTD-5 EAX architecture, while meeting system performance goals, presented a significant challenge to the design of call processing software and related operating system and data base. These challenges were also opportunities to design a flexible and easily expandable system based on building blocks of functional processor types. 2 references.
