Image enhancement plays main role in digital image processing applications. Enhancement means highlighting main details and improving features and quality of images and making images more visually appealing. Image enhancement finds its applications in many fields of agriculture, education, forestry, remote sensing, fingerprint matching etc. In this research work, the focus is on underwater images, various existing techniques are available to enhance the underwater images but there are some issues that still need improvement. In this paper, we have used hybrid method DWT-SVD with binary bat optimization to improve the underwater images. The simulation results show that hybrid method i.e. DWT-SVD with binary bat optimization and its comparison with existing method i.e. DWT-SVD which is further compared by the various parameters such as: Bit Error Rate, Entropy, Normalized Cross correlation. This proposed method shows better results as compared to the existing technique.
