Securing GNSS: An End-to-end Feasibility Analysis for the Galileo Open-service

Curran James Thomas, Matteo Paonni · Joint Research Centre (European Commission) · 2014

Acknowledging the current proposal for E6 SCE, the paper presents a novel approach to liberate both the properties of access-control and anti-spoofing to certified or subscribed users and the property of anti-spoofing to open-service users. The analysis considers a typical mass-market or civilian user operating in a selection of environments; including a simulated additive-white Gaussian channel (AWGN), a number of simulated realizations of the LMS, and live availability tests using the current constellation of four Galileo satellites.
