Solution of diffusion equation in axisymmetrical coordinates

In this thesis, the diffusion equation in cylindrical bar is investigated.The analytical result in series form is obtained.A different treatment for radius in axisymmetric finite element formula is derived and its results are compared with other finite element packages.The results show the improvement in accuracy for axisymmetric finite element formula.A case in which the diffusivity is the function of temperature is also investigated in this study.
