The aim of this paper is to propose a design methodology for dynamically partially reconfigurable systems that provides an architecture (the Caronte architecture) able, by employing only the processor embedded in the FPGA and no dedicated device or proprietary software, to dynamically adapt the design implementation in order to meet the run– time requirements of the system. This paper will focus on a new coloring algorithm (the Adj algorithm) tailored to the particular needs of the Caronte architecture, but that can be considered of interest also in itself.
