While agreeing with the main lines of the letter of Dr B. Hird (August 1967 Bulletin ), we would like to draw attention to an erroneous statement in his letter, which is repeated in his reply to Dr U. Öpik (December 1967 Bulletin ). He said: "We interpret H as being a description of the spatial distribution and concentration of free currents."
