Proposed new classification scheme forPhysics Abstracts

The three abstracting journals, Physics Abstracts, Electrical and Electronic Abstracts and Computer and Control Abstracts , are published by INSPEC (Information Services in Physics, Electrotechnology, Computers and Control), which is itself the information organization of the IEE. Most physicists will be familiar with the classification system at present used by Physics Abstracts: it is set out on the back page of each issue and also on the back page of each issue of Current Papers in Physics.
