Christopher Evans London: Harrap 1973 pp 264 price £3 I opened this book with some interest, as Dr Evans' theme is a catching one, yet put it down feeling very much of two minds – which was perhaps what he intended. The setting is a familiar one: the industrial revolution and, more so, the scientific and technological developments of more recent years have left social and spiritual man, especially in the younger age groups, very much at sea.
