The mobile Ad-hoc network is an open wireless environment in which nodes are free to move anywhere without any topology and fixed infrastructure. Due to its open nature, it is vulnerable to various security attacks. There is a different kind of Denial of Service (DoS) attack such as Gray Hole attack drops fully or partially packets passing through them. Gray hole node able to change its behavior malicious to a normal node, it is critical to recognize the malicious node in an open network. The proposed work implements the false reply count technique to detect gray hole attack i.e. nodes who sent false replies to request message to attract traffic during the process of path establishment between source and destination. The TrueLink concept used for path authentication against nodes that changes their behavior honest node to malicious after the path establishment and communication begin.
