A course-oriented book recommendation method based on library classification ontology
Yue Huang · 2016
With the advent of Massive Open Online Course, or MOOC, academic librarians have already begun to participate in all aspects of MOOC. During the resource construction of a self-built MOOC platform, one issue that the author encounters is to recommend books in the library to disciplines or courses on the platform. Similarity between books and disciplines or courses of all levels is measured according to the structure of library classification ontology, based on which a method for recommending books to disciplines or courses is proposed. A numerical example is presented to show the working principle of the proposed method. With the embedded books in these courses and disciplines, academic librarians can provide in-depth subject service.
