A convergence study of adaptive beamforming algorithms used in smart antenna systems

Raed M. Shubair, A. Merri · 2005

This paper studies the convergence bahavior of adaptive beamforming algorithms used in smart antenna systems for wireless communications. Two algorithms are being investigated: Least Mean Square (LMS) and Recursive Least Square (RLS). The convergence of the algorithms is studied by investigating the effect of changing a number of parameters including number of interference signals, number of antenna elements, number of iterations, LMS step size, and RLS weighting factor.
