MANET(mobile adhoc network) is a network of mobile nodes which are communicated wirelessly to exchange information. Here the nodes exchange information each other and each nodes function as router by forwarding the traffic information irrespective to its own use. In the kNN processing scenario the query issuing node collects information from the the k nearest nodes and finds the result. kNN processing can be incorporate with the MANET for the effective and efficient communication. Several methods are there in MANET for knn query processing. One of the latest method for kNN query processing in manet is filling area(FA) method. In the FA method the search area is reduced and decrease the overhead in query processing. Here, we propose a cache updation method for the FA method by calculating a utility value at each node and based on the analysis of utility value cache updation is done. In this method the traffic overhead is handled in a much more effective way than the FA method with good accurate query results.
