MODE OF ICTs APPLICATIONS IN PLANT PRODUCTION AND PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY IN RURAL PUNJAB-PAKISTAN

In Pakistan, agricultural extension is an energetic mechanism for transfer of knowledge and advice as contribution for farming through agricultural extension staff. Presently, the need was to move of focus with latest ICTs services and applications for transfer of technology of knowledge in short, timely and knowledge driven system for rural farmers. Data was collected from convenient and multistage sampling to selected 300 ICTs user respondents from three districts. Quantitative data was composed by used SPSS computer software and finalized with simple linear regression. Data was perceived that majority of ICTs user respondents fully satisfied with ICTs applications such as toll free number, robo calls, text message and internet. It was concluded that information attained by ICTs applications like toll free number; text messages and robo calls; internet were found to be effective. ICTs applications were highly significance for plant production and plant protection technology in the agricultural development. ICTs applications are one of the mainly to get information sources in timely for production and protection technology. ICTs Knowledge can contribute to better considerate, how these farms can be supported to improve their efficiency and thus their profitability, leading to more sustainable farms. The recommendation for ICTs application should be initiate ICTs awareness program to use agricultural information by Kiosk for farmers at village level. Government should be start regular ICTs applications program to ensure timely availability of agricultural information to farmers and also established of Information Hub Center (IHC) at tehsil level (sub-division of district).
