Challenges of the Genome

The Human Genome Project (HGP) was launched in 1988, which involves a coordinated, international research effort aimed at identifying the location of the estimated 100, 000 human genes and the intervening sequences. The challenges of the HGP are considered as one of the most pressing problems for human rights for which it is suggested that lawyers should become aware of it and should understand the importance of responding effectively to its challenges.
