Why the trend away from physics?

The objectivity of the admission figures supplied by the UCCA to Prof. N. Thompson ( Physics Bulletin May 1969 p. 196) is marred by the subjectivity of his comments. There is an increase in the fraction of would-be mathematicians, "ttracted by employment in computing?"
