Software Defined Networking Research Laboratory-Experimental Topologies and Scenarios

Software Defined Networks are being considered as very promising solution for data centers and cloud environment and are in the scope of interest of many research groups and service providers over the world. Various implementations of software defined networking are implemented and operate in data centers and wide area networks of global IT companies. In spite of SDNs are being developed and put into practice from few years, there is still the strong need for developing new and optimizing existing software defined approaches, algorithms and protocols. In the paper we present new SDN laboratory based on SDN-ready high-performance network devices. We propose two experimental environments, in which conditions of real data centers and WAN networks may be exactly imitated. Finally we present the plan of studies and research topics.
