ResearchGate is an academic social networking site, designed strictly for researchers. The site allows researchers to discuss their topics of interests, connect with other researchers, and share their published and unpublished scholarly work such as articles, conference presentations, and other media files. Use of academic social networking sites is on the rise, as altmetrics is becoming an acceptable measure of the value of scholars’ work for promotion and tenure.
