Research on Anticipatory Reasoning for Air Traffic Control

In recent years, aviation safety is always under the strong spotlight. According to the statistics, pilot errors account for nearly 60 percent causes of fatal accidents. How to reduce the impact of human factor has become an important issue. After analyzing the problems existing in current Air Traffic Control System, this paper proposes a logic system called STDERL by adding the concept of spatio-temporal logic, deontic logic and epistemic logic into the strong relevant logic system. Then apply the proposed logic to the domain of air traffic control and propose a reasoning model, which is verified by a real air traffic scene about autonomous flights of multiple aircrafts. The model with STDERL has turned out to be an effective way to improve the current situation of aviation industry.
