Steganography is the centuries old technique to hide the data and has been popular among the computer security specialists. The steganography is the technique used for the purpose of hiding the data into a similar or another form of data to create the covert channel among the internet or intranet links to protect the data from the various kinds of masquerading or snooping attacks. Text, image or audio data can be embedded in the images by using the various spatial domain or transform domain methods. In this, we have worked on the center weighted least significant bit method with hidden object encryption to embed the small images in the medium or large sized images. The proposed method employs the spatial domain embedding method using the RGBR for embedding each 8-bit pixel into the cover image hence consume 2 pixels for hiding each 2-bit pixel. The multi-layered bitwise XOR method has been used along with the same sized key to realize the lightweight Elliptic Curve cryptography. The performance evaluation has been performed in the form of payload capacity, elapsed time and PSNR.
