A Simple, Efficient Routing Scheme for N2R Network Structures

A simple routing scheme for N2R network structures is proposed. It is essentially table-free, routing decisions are based on node addresses, and only few calculations are needed in each node. For structures where q is small compared to p, the scheme is shown to be efficient, with the chosen paths being only slightly longer than shortest paths. If q is large, the scheme is less efficient. To compensate for this, it is shown that for most values of p, a value of q can be found resulting in short average distance and diameter while also being small enough to allow for efficient routing by the proposed scheme.
