A trial to ship ubiquitous environmental realization and safety management

Today, the latest ICT technology (Information & Communications Technology) has the possibility of realizing various ubiquitous environments. On the other hand, as the number of crew becomes fewer and the number of uneasy people is growing, efficiency and security demand of ship operation is growing. In this paper, the system to get ubiquitous environment onboard is proposed based on the position information of the crew. In addition, the test results by using originally developed experimental system are reported. The system includes RFID (active Tag), Wireless LAN and ubiquitous server.
