Designing Authoring Software Environments for the Interactive Arts: An Overview ofMobilizing.js
Dominique Cunin · 2017
The interactive arts that people are interested in and that they practice are rooted in the use of digital machines capable of interactivity. Because these software tools are destined for authoring, the authors propose uniting them under the name of "authoring software environments", of which a brief overview is given. Mobilizing.js is a project that effectively applies our hypothesis concerning authoring software environments for interactive artistic creation intended for art and design and whose conception and architecture are guided by them. At the same time as HyperCard, another category of authoring software was developed, whose metaphor was not based on work done in an office, but rather on the figure of the film director and animator. Actor practitioners of artistic creation working with the digital need not take on the role of computer engineer, but can instead practice computer programming as an artist or as a designer.
