Interference-based optical image encryption has triggered much current attention due to its marked advantages, such as non-iterative operation. However, the precise alignment requirements of the phase-only masks in two different planes restrict the experimental verification. Few experimental results have been reported about the optical interference encryption. In this paper, we propose a holographic lensless interference encryption method based on single spatial light modulator. The alignment requirements are avoided by uploading the two phase-only masks into one single spatial light modulator simultaneously. The pixel vector decomposition algorithm is applied to decompose the Fresnel computer-generated hologram (CGH) into two phase-only CGHs for higher security. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the decryption process.
