A semigroup S is called a Putcha semigroup if, for every a,b ∈ S, the assumption b ∈ S 1 aS 1 implies b m ∈ S 1 a 2 S 1 for some positive integer m. In this paper we characterize some special types of Putcha semigroups whose subgroups belong to a given variety of groups.
