Cryptanalysis of an efficient password authentication scheme

Recently, Thandra et al. proposed an efficient password authentication scheme. Their scheme is secure, efficient, and easy to implement. However, we find some weaknesses of their scheme in this article. We will show that their scheme is vulnerable to denial of service attacks, online and offline password guessing attacks, and impersonation attacks.
