Subs, satellites and dark matter
D. G. Jenkins · Physics World · 2009
Physics tells us that many wildly implausible events are not, in fact, impossible, but merely have a small but finite probability of occurring. For example, there is a quantum-mechanical solution that places all the atoms in my body on the other side of the room to where I am sitting as I write this. However, the probability that I will suddenly materialize on the far side of the wall is so small that it would take an eternity to write down.
