Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers receive the signals from a collection of satellites. Also, GNSS improves the redundancy and availability of information emitted from satellites. Geofencing technology is used to track the moving objects with respect to certain virtual boundaries. Further, sends notification about entry and exit of objects within the fence to intended applications. GNSS chipset is enabled with Geofencing capability. However, there are certain problems associated with GNSS chipset having Geofencing capability, such as: wrong prediction of entry and exit of an object; it has impact on the battery life of the device; accuracy and speed of positioning the object is less. This paper aims to device a methodology which addresses the above listed issues associated with Geofencing enabled GNSS chipset. The proposed methodology provides solution in the form of a matrix, which is a pair of Initial status of GNSS chip and Expected Event. This approach assumes that the user is moving in varying signal strength.
