Microsoft Excel (Wikipedia, 2010) contains a built-in optimisation tool known as Solver (Frontline, 2010). Solver is developed by Frontline Systems, who provide the software to Microsoft. Using Solver, a user can develop a spreadsheet optimisation model and then solve it to find an optimal solution.
