Diversity of communication technologies in Internet of Things and increasing the amount of sensor data outlined the idea of using intermediate devices for storage and pre-processing - such as gateways in sensor networks. Moreover, semantic interoperability is emerging as an attractive solution for communication between autonomous entities or smart objects in Internet of Things, so the paper examines the functionalities of semantic data annotation in embedded devices with limited resources located at the edge of the Smart Grid network.
