Security has emerged as one of the most significant challenges to organizations that develop software system. As software systems involvement in managing financial systems, infrastructure, and industrial systems increases, the potential consequences of unauthorized access to those systems becomes more and more severe. We examine relationships between software reliability engineering and cybersecurity to develop more effective ways of assessing and improving system security.
