Short range magnetic communications for contactless sensors on aircraft

For the aircraft health management, many sensors are embedded and utilized for monitoring. In order to control the weight, the wireless sensors can be employed. The traditional IEEE 802.11 and IEEE802.15.6 networks are easy to interfere with the avionics equipment. In order to make a easy ElectroMagnetic (EM) comparability, the sensors with magnetic transmission are considered in this paper. Compared with the common-used magnetic Near Field Communications (NFC), the transmission rate is lowered with the enlarged transmission distance. The data bus is employed for accessing. The detailed structure is proposed with the performance evaluation carried out to confirm the validity and efficiency.
