Grounding grid is an important part to maintain the safe and reliability of power system, thus the accurate assessment of the grounding state is related to the safe and stable operation of power system directly. Under the view of only single parameter is considered to meet the prescript limit value during the safety assessment of grounding grid, this paper proposed a comprehensive assessment of grounding grid state based on rough set theory. Firstly, the characteristic parameters which holding the main impact on grounding grid state have been selected and measured. Then the data were classified reasonable using the Dynamic Trend (DT) method. According to the acquired safety limit value form i.e. DL/T and 596-1996 and i.e. DL/T 475-2006, the measured data were conducted the discrete processing. Besides, the best comprehensive weight of each characteristic parameter was calculated by the application of rough set theory. Finally, the comprehensive assessment results of grounding grid state were gained with the linear weighted method. The rationality and validity of the proposed evaluation method was demonstrated by the results of application on an engineering example.
