Course DescriptionThis course is the continuation of Japanese 102.The course emphasizes to nurture students' ability to initiate conversation and participate in guided discussions, by introduction of a wide range of grammatical forms in a variety of situations related to a daily life of a typical exchange student in Japan.More expansive knowledge of the lives of Japanese people living in Japan will be introduced.Course Specific Learning Outcomes: By the end of semester, you will:1. Be able to communicate both verbally and in written forms on such topics as, but not limited to:various 2. degrees of formality in Japanese language, expressing one's opinions, comparatives, intentions, desires, 3. plans, experiences, taking care of emergency situations, potential forms, predictions, etc. 4. Read and write all types of Japanese writing systems with extensive use of Kanji characters in addition to 5. Hiragana and Katakana.6. Compare and contrast Japanese culture with your own.Achievement of above outcomes will be measured through various forms of assessment such as simulations, synchronous online interviews, skits, peerreviews, recorded or live oral presentations, online publication of personal blogs, or creating a promotional media of a selected topic. Language Table at Language Lab at CLC403There will be an informal gathering called 'Language Table ' where you get to talk with native speakers to practice your Japanese or ask questions.Time will be announced in class.
