Multimedia documents are complex accumulations of content portions that belong to different informatio n types. Each information type needs dedicated tools that al low for generation, modification and presentation. The object ta seems to be a preferred one in the field of mult imedia documents as can be seen within standards specification and proprietary appr oaches. Although it is partly possible to extend relational database technology to satisfy the needs of multim edia documen storage. There are systems more suitable as a base for a multimedia database system which support for the representation of the needed information types and the extensibility. RDA or DFR design concepts focuses on s supporting isochronous transfer of data. : DBMS, Multimedia, Document, RDA, Coopeation, Mesa, DFR, Synchronization, Protocols.
