Identification of balanced node for data aggregation in wireless sensor network

Sayali M. Wani, Sanjay Laxmikant Nalbalwar · 2016

Power management is a primary challenge in the wireless sensor network (WSN). In order to reduce power consumption by network, data aggregation is introduced. Data aggregation is based on Tree topology often called as Data Aggregation Tree (DAT). DAT is mostly adopted in periodically monitoring applications of WSN. All existing work did not consider the transitional region and Load factor on each sensor node in WSN. In this paper, we adopt probabilistic network model for construction of aggregation tree and we developed algorithm for identification of Load Balanced Maximal Dominator node Set (LBMDS) and connector nodes for LBMDS. Moreover, we proposed an Expected Allocation Probability algorithm (EAP) to solve Parent Node Assignment (PNA) problem. We demonstrate that construction of data aggregation tree by identifying balanced node extends lifespan of sensor network.
