Something I often hear is that the security industry has failed. Pundits love to write articles that suggest our ability to secure information, data and systems, cannot be governed by management frameworks alone and it’s the focus on these frameworks that means we are not focusing on threat management and incident response. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly disagree with this sentiment, especially since the purveyors of this rhetoric are the same salesmen who have a wonder-product that solves all of your security problems.
