Efficient route selection by using link failure factor in MANET

Designing of Routing protocol is an important issue for a mobile ad-hoc network. Due to frequent changes in the topology of the network this becomes a major technical challenge. Node crash and link break in the network may cause losses of the networks resources. In signal strength based AODV protocol measures signals strength b/w node and evaluate with RSSI threshold values if it is larger than threshold value then it is usual for more privilege or moreover it is redundant if it is not locate any path b/w source and destination then it lever to normal AODV, because of their faction toward normal AODV protocol we proposed a new technique, In this paper we proposed a method, in which node calculate RSSI value of the neighbors node if it is less than threshold value then it increase link failure factor by 1 and calculate the LFF up to destination node with the help of this method link failure factor of every route is calculated, and those route have minimum link failure factor is select as firstly route b/w senders and destination which select route to the base of minimum step count. Simulation results show that LFAODV has performance better than SEAODV routing protocol in terms of the metrics: Packets delivery ratio, throughput, Routing overhead.
