Bologna Translation Service: Online translation of course syllabi and study programmes in English

an ICT PSP EU-funded project which specializes in the automatic translation of study programmes. At the core of the BTS framework are several machine translation (MT) engines through which web-based translation services are of-fered. The fully integrated BTS architec-ture includes a translation engine cou-pling rule-based and statistical MT with automatic post-editing (APE). In this pa-per, we first describe the motivating fac-tors behind the provision of such a ser-vice. Following this, we give an over-view of the BTS framework as a whole, with particular emphasis on the MT components, and provide a real world use case scenario in which BTS MT services are exploited. 1
