Once a physicist: Martin Read

Why did you originally chose to study physics? There were some exceptional people teaching mathematics and science at the local grammar school I attended close to my parents' home near Basingstoke. They really put themselves out to get the best out of the people they taught. It was because of the inspiration I got from these teachers that I chose to study natural sciences at Cambridge. I ended up specializing in phusics as I found it was much more logical than chemistry.
