While enterprises are generating huge amounts of data effective means are needed to deliver the right information to the right person at the right time. An enterprise intranet helps to structure all this information. But individual information which is consistent with the context of the user is needed – the idea of personalized portals was developed. In B2C applications personalization is based on web mining algorithms which can cluster users, show dependencies between products or recommend special offerings. These algorithms can also be used for intranet portals in an enterprise which is shown in this paper. A framework was developed to organize this personalization process and the analytical steps are described. Results are shown with real data from an enterprise portal.
