(for any given a > 0 and b > 0. We also study other qualitative properties of the solution (like monotonicity and concavity). Finally, taking inspiration from [2, 1], we develop a linear monotone iterative scheme for approximating the solution. This problem has been recently proposed as a model of the corneal shape in [4], where however just a linearized version of the equation has been investigated and only for a limited range of the values of the parameters a and b.
