DESIGN OF CASCADE IIR DIGITAL FILTERS USING MINIMUM ADDER MULTIPLIER BLOCKS

For further complexity reduction of fixed-point cascade IIR digital filters using multiplier blocks the minimizing problems of coefficient wordlength, (roundoff noise)-to-signal ratio and adder cost of multiplier blocks should be decided jointly. Two approaches to such decision are proposed. Their efficiency is demonstrated by examples.
