Software Defined Network Support for Real Distributed Systems
Liang Chen · 2012
Software defined network is an emerging technique that allow users to reconfigure queuing, routing and forwarding of the entire network it runs on. Such technology makes it possible for applications to program the network as desired. In this work, we took ZooKeeper and Hadoop as examples to explore how SDN optimization may improve the performance of distributed systems at run-time. Our analysis has indicated that such instrumentation has great potential of improving the performance. 1
