Segmentation of Devanagari character

Devanagari script is one of the most widely used scripts in India. Devanagari provides the base of many Indian Languages. Segmentation and recognition of Devanagari characters is one of the upcoming research topic. But since the Devanagari character comprises of many complexities, so the segmentation of the characters is a difficult task. Although research had been performed in this area but this paper provides some new approaches for the segmentation of Devanagari characters as well as removal of Shirorekha from the character for proper segmentation.
