Wired Equivalent Privacy is use to secure wireless networks specifically wireless LAN (Wi-Fi). The core of WEP protocol is the RC4 (Ron's Code-4) algorithm, this paper start with introductory section about description on the WEP protocol and RC4 algorithm. Section 2 briefly examine the security threats, weaknesses of WEP and RC4. Section 3; describe methodology where three important enhancements into the original WEP protocol is describe. First one is the modification to the original RC4 algorithm to make it more secure and even faster. Second one is a novel approach to increase the size of the initial vector without increasing the overall size of the 64 bit session key used in WEP. Third one is providing a provision to dynamically change the secret key before getting any possibility to crack the secret key from the encrypted data packets. Last section, Results shows that our algorithm provides much better security as well as encryption time efficiency and less correlation between encrypted data than the previous works done on WEP or RC4.
