The aim of this study is to analyze the developmental changes in the speech of intellectually disabled and normal developing population. We represent the speech as mean power distribution among 10 frequency bins in the interval of 200 Hz between 0–2000 Hz in the population of 27 normal developing adults and 18 intellectually disabled adults. Results revealed that population normally developing adults have more power mean as compared to intellectually disabled and normal adult have more peaks at higher frequency ranges. To further support our findings, we have performed statistical analysis and found the significant differences in the power spectra's of normal developing and Intellectually disabled adults. This result can be utilized as standard database for more comparative studies.
