COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL FOR AN INTERNET TELEPHONE SOFTWARE SYSTEM

This paper describes the communication protocol to be used in an Internet Telephone Software System. The system consisting of Telephone Software and Telephone Software Exchange Daemon, permits users to conduct real-time voice communication over the Internet in a manner similar to a conventional telephone system. The system has been implemented on Unix -based Sun Sparc workstations at the School of Applied Science, Nanyang Technological University.
