Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) is used in various applications like disaster relief operations, commercial purpose, military operation etc. All these applications are prone to the security attacks. In MANET every node is able for performing as router so there may be possibility of many attacks are more. MANET has number of routing protocols but we focus on AODV Routing protocol as well gray hole attack in same routing protocol. Gray hole is type of DoS attack in which it can pass some data packets and drops some data packets as per advertise of shortest path from source to destination node. We discuss malicious attack by claiming false RREP message, we have also reviewed different techniques to detect gray hole attacks in MANET.
